COVID-19

Self isolation for my mom means that she stays home and works on jigsaw puzzles and mostly makes cloth face masks for the homeless. They are fabulous. I think she has made more than a 100 so far.

Still, it would be better if she hung out with us instead. All in time, first comes keeping people safe.

John and I work from home. I love it. No more 2 1/2 hour commute, and lots of flexibility. I start at 6:30am, breakfast at 7:30 and 11:30, I make lunch, usually salad, soup and sandwich or omelette. Easy food. Then a twenty minute walk and ready for the afternoon. It is a European lifestyle to have a long lunch, and it is so refreshing mid day. Love this. I work until 4:30 and then start supper, or grocery shop or take groceries to mom. Then my virtual workout at 5:30…at home. It has worked well for me and a lot of ways want to keep this lifestyle. Only add in mom coming to join us for pizza n Friday’s and Saturday lunch and dinner out with her on Tuesday. It will come back too.

Coronavirus

There are those moments in life where everything you have always known changes.

This is right now.

It cuts through time and becomes a before and after.

Such uncertainty perhaps will ground us in the present.

John at 50

Today we did a photo shoot to celebrate John’s 50th birthday and to provide our wonderful tailor with a book of the collection he created for John. Our friends Tony and Barry who are both amazing photographers took the pictures and were as enthusiastic as we were about the project.

Oscar Peterson Jazz Festival

We went to an Oscar Peterson Jazz Festival this past week. Amazing. It is a blend of an orchestra and an trio. The conductor was so passionate and completely had his groove on.

Best part. I said to John at intermission that I wish I brought contraband and could really use a chocolate. I turned to mom and asked if she had any chocolate and not missing a beat she reached into her purse and pulled out three little balls of Lindor goodness.
