Museum of Ireland

The national museums in Ireland are free which is rather wonderful, it allows a quick peak in without too much commitment. We went to the Irish National museum which is close to the train station that we needed later.

The museum is in one of 14 barracks situated in Dublin and on the other side of the river that runs through Dublin. We learned the 1600’s were the worst here. England claiming their land and killing and torturing people and then had France and Spain also deciding that Ireland was good to wage a war. No thank you.

I was surprised actually that the imposition of England is over centuries which makes this last century when the Republic of Ireland was born is so significant.

Pure delightful ride by a cab driver who gave us a tour and a good chat.
