Be the Change you want to see in the World. It is such a trite expression found now on coffee mugs and t-shirts. Yet, I am inspired today because of a book by Dave Meslin called Teardown Rebuilding Democracy from the Ground Up. It is a well written and engaging book about practical ways we can be engaged with our political systems and provides new ways of thinking about the possibilities. If you are cynical about the political world around us, please remain engaged it is the only way it will get fixed. I encourage you to buy and read the book, high-light what reasonates with you, full it full of post-it-notes that say “I want this political reform” and send to any representative in government. My head today is full of hope to have mixed proportional representation and a randomly selected Senate.
